Championship Weekend: Gators- Tide Battle in a Unofficial Semifinal
SEC Championship: #1 Alabama vs #4 Florida
The matchup of the year in the SEC is finally here, Gators and Crimson Tide. The undefeated Tide lead by head coach Nick Saban have won all year with defense. The majority of their games have been very close. The only game that was a surprising blowout was the big statement game against Georgia earlier in the season. The Gators on the other hand are an offensive juggernaut. Tim Tebow is once again in the thick of the Heisman race and he has a ! plethora of speedy weapons to help him out. Star RB/WR Percy Harvin is banged up, but if he plays at all he will make a big impact. He is the biggest game-changers at a skill position in college football this season. The Gators defense is fantastic as well. Besides Alabama, Florida has the best defense in the SEC. The Gators are favored despite having one loss. Alabama has a great defense, but cannot stop the Florida offensive attack. They can at best contain them. But this will not be enough because the Gators defense will hold Alabama's offense down. The Florida Gators will be this year's SEC Champions and are headed to the BCS Championship.
Big 12 Championship: #2 Oklahoma vs #20 Missouri
Like it or not, the Sooners are in the Big 12 title game. The Longhorns are out and will have to root for Mizzou from their couch if they want to play in the BCS Championship. The Sooners have been flat out destroying opponents recently including handing Texas Tech their only loss of the season by over 40 points. The Sooners have a prolific offense lead by Heisman hopeful in QB Sam Bradford. Their defense is very solid as well, the best in the Big 12. Honestly I do not see this game being very close, sorry Texas. The Oklahoma Sooners win huge and punch their ticket to the BCS Championship.
ACC Championship: #17 Boston College vs #25 Vir! ginia Tech
Like it or not, one of these two teams will be playing in a BCS Bowl. The ACC is down this year, but nonetheless the automatic bid still exists for the champion. This matchup is actually a rematch from last year's ACC Title game when the Hokies won. This year BC enters the game with a backup QB, but are 2-0 with him. The Eagles have a great head coach in Jeff Jagodzinski who has helped revitalized this program. I like what BC h! as been doing this season and the Eagles are the pick for this! year's ACC Champions.
